Abstract
The nature of this project is totally pedagogic: it aims to help students who are starting in physics by visualizing concepts that are not very intuitive. It illustrates how classical and quantum scattering can be explained in an interactive way, implementing them computationally in Python, an open source language, with every code made available on github. Following a chronological and intuitive order, the project first explains classical scattering and its implementation (deflection function, scattering angle and cross section), and then quantum scattering, which is far more complex (scattering amplitude, partial waves and phase shifts), with the mathematical derivations gathered in appendices. The work concludes that interactive 3D animations, built with libraries such as vpython, facilitate teaching and learning by letting students visualize each concept right after it is explained.
