The idea

A place in the website for ideas as they are said, each with the date it was added, the discussion held on it, the decisions taken, a status and its migration to the app, the core or an extension: a log per idea, since an idea gets modified, renewed or discarded later. Built like the rest of the site but in another palette, since the ideas are the innovative part. Perhaps a dedicated website, the seed-place, created in parallel with each project's site, where every idea has a workshop until it gets the green light to migrate from the incubator into the project.

Assessment

Worth it. Until today an idea of Josu's lived in a chat and died with it, or went straight to the log as an assessment: L286 is the case, two ideas assessed on a design page with seven decisions pending and no place that says so. The log is for what was done, the brief for what was asked, the roadmap for what is planned; an idea is none of the three until it is accepted, and it needs a place where it waits, keeps its discussion, changes status and is found again. That place is cheap: one YAML file, one generator, one palette.

A section of the project's site, not a separate site, for now. An idea is bound to its project: it cites log entries (L286), requirements (R20), versions, streams and files. On a separate site each of those is a link out and the record splits in two. The section keeps the binding and the kit's three navigations.

Created with every project. What Josu asks beyond that, the seed-place born with the project's site, is met by the kit: ideas.yml, the generator and the palette become part of the family kit that every project site inherits (build.py came from the FTIR ecosystem site, L004), so a new project has its incubator from day one, as it has its log, its brief and its roadmap.

The family's incubator is the later step: ideas that belong to no project yet, or to several (a figure rule for every thesis, a theme for every app), on a site of their own with the same generator, when there are such ideas. Nothing is built for it until then.

The renovated aspect. The section keeps the kit's type, grid and tags and changes the palette: a plum accent in place of the green, warmer paper, so the header's line, the wordmark's accent and the navigation's marks say at a glance that this is the incubator. Dark mode has its own values.

The lifecycle is the board's vocabulary: seed, discussed, workshop, green, migrated, with parked and discarded as the side exits, and home naming where the idea migrates. Each idea has its own page, the workshop, with the summary, the assessment, the proposal, what Josu decides, and its own dated log; the board lists them with their status.

Proposal

  • Done today. The section, this page among them, the palette, the board and the workshop pages, generated from ecosystem/data/ideas.yml by tools/build.py (L288).
  • Next. When Josu confirms the shape, the generator and the palette move into the family kit, and the difes and perovskite-atlas sites get the section with their next build.
  • Later. The family's incubator, a site of its own, when an idea without a project appears.

For Josu to decide

  • Whether the section as built is the shape (board, workshop page per idea, the lifecycle's seven words).
  • Whether to move it into the kit now, or after it has held ten ideas.
  • The dedicated site: parked until an idea without a project appears, or started now.

The idea's log

Said by Josu in the ideas chat: a place for ideas with a log each, a status and the migration; another palette; perhaps a dedicated site born with every project.

  • 2026-10-15 · work

The section built: ideas.yml, the generator, the incubator's palette, the board and one page per idea; the first three ideas registered and assessed. L288

  • 2026-10-15 · discussion

A section of each project's site rather than a separate site, bound to the log, the brief and the streams; the generator to move into the kit so that every project starts with it; the family's own incubator parked until an idea without a project appears. L288
